Fortis Update
6th October 2008
You may have heard about Fortis in the news recently. The
governments of Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands have invested
€11.2 billion in the respective Fortis bank institutions in each
county. This is a strong signal of confidence by each government of the
long-term viability of Fortis.
Fortis UK operates as a separate legal entity from Fortis
Group and is separately regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
It is therefore very much business as usual, and if you are already a
Fortis policyholder your policy is not affected and claims can still be
made in the usual way.
If you have any queries or concerns about your policy, please

Concerned about Flooding?
October 2008
With the risk of flooding being an increasing concern for many
customers, it is vital that you ensure you have adequate insurance
protection in place now. Particularly during the credit crunch it is
important that householders do not cut back on their insurance cover.
Contact us to discuss your needs or to discuss any flooding.
In the event of a flood, it is important to notify us
immediately so that a loss adjuster can be appointed in order to
minimise your loss as much as possible. Do not throw away damaged items
as you will need to show them to the insurance company representative
so that an equivalent replacement can be organised. Take photographs of
items that need emergency repair or replacement. Make sure drains and
gutters are unblocked to enable water to run off unhindered, therefore
preventing damage from overflow. Finally, if you are evacuated, take
valuables and insurance documents with you.
